Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Fiesta Fest & Uptown Fiesta

Felipe’s Taqueria Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Inaugural “Fiesta Fest” and “Uptown Fiesta”
Portion of Proceeds to Benefit ‘Son of a Saint’

New Orleans – It’s fiesta time! Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a weekend-long celebration at two of its New Orleans locations.
On Friday, September 15th, Fiesta Fest takes over the courtyard at Mid-City Market, located at 411 North Carrollton Avenue. The family-friendly event coincides with Mexico and Central America’s Independence Day and will include live music, food, dancing, and, of course, the best rocks and frozen fresh-squeezed margaritas around. The musical highlight of this celebration is the singer-songwriter José Fermín Ceballos with his Salsa Orchestra performing all original Salsa compositions and accompanied by his Latin band Merengue4-FOUR. The live performance begins at 7 p.m.
The celebration continues Saturday, September 16th with Uptown Fiesta at Felipe’s Uptown location at 6215 South Miro Street. Festivities include live music from Papo y Son Manao, salsa dancing, food and fun!
“Our team members want to celebrate this important holiday with the community, and what a better way to do it than with a two-day fiesta,” says Lon Nichols, HR Director. “We’re excited to start a new Felipe’s tradition honoring Mexican and Central American independence.”
A portion of the proceeds from the two-day Fiesta will be donated to Son of a Saint. The nonprofit mentorship program works to enhance the lives of fatherless boys in the Greater New Orleans region. Son of a Saint is currently looking to increase the number of Hispanic applicants for the program.
