5 things you need to know about Felipeā€™s Golden Frozen Mango Margarita

This June, Felipeā€™s Mexican Taqueria encourages customers to ā€œhave a heart of goldā€ as the restaurant teams up with local nonprofit organization, Son of a Saint. Here are 5 things you need to know about the Golden Frozen Mango Margarita.

1. Drinking for a cause.
The tequila won’t be the only thing making you feel warm and fuzzy inside. During June, $1 from every Golden Frozen Mango Margarita sold will be donated to the Son of a Saint Foundation. This local nonprofit actively works to enhance the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, development and life skills.

2. Local origins.
Son of a Saint was founded in 2011 by Bivian ā€œSonnyā€ Lee III, son of the late Bivian Lee Jr., NFL defensive back for the New Orleans Saints from 1971 to 1975. After understanding the hardships of growing up without a father, Sonny founded Son of a Saint in honor of his father and single mother. His goal is to better the lives of a special group of fatherless young males around the New Orleans area.

3. Son of a Saint & the Felipeā€™s family.
ā€œWeā€™ve seen firsthand the positive impact Son of a Saint has in our city,ā€ said Lon Nichols, Felipeā€™s HR Director. ā€œThe first two Son of a Saint graduates have been part of the Felipeā€™s team. We will continue to support this amazing program that is making a tremendous difference in the lives of young men in New Orleans.ā€

4. Fresh Craft Ingredients.
The Felipeā€™s Golden Frozen Mango Margarita is made with 100% blue agave tequila, fresh-squeezed juices, and a house-made mango puree. Served in a sugar coated glass and garnished with a slice of lime, this drink is too cool to pass up.

5. Sip it while you can.
Hurry to get your Golden Frozen Mango Margarita, as itā€™s only available the month of June. You wonā€™t want to regret indulging in this fresh frozen cocktail.
Swing by any of the three Felipeā€™s New Orleans locations in Mid-City, the French Quarter, or Uptown to try it out.
